Here are some great tips on cleaning your home that you may not have known about!
  • The same fabric softener sheets that you use in your dryer to reduce static and generate a fresh smell can also be used on your furniture. The anti-static property of dryer sheets will actually keep your furniture from attracting dust and making you have to clean them so often. As a bonus, your furniture will smell fresh and clean.

  • Collect animal hair by rubbing the area with dryer sheets, they will magically attract all the loose hairs.

How To Make Your Own Window-Washing Liquid

If you want to improve a little bit on your window cleaner design, consider making a window cleaner that will not freeze. All you need to do is mix together a half cup of sudsy ammonia, two cups of rubbing alcohol, one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, and one gallon of water. This combination could make your glass cleaner better than the store bought alternative.

When you go to the store to try to find sudsy ammonia, keep in mind that sudsy ammonia is basically any ammonia that has soap added, so check the bottle in your local store to see if soap or another form of detergent is in the ingredients list.

Make sure to label your homemade cleaning fluid bottles.

Alka-Seltzer can be used to

  • 3 tablets down the kitchen sink followed by a cup of white vinegar. Leave for a few minutes then run hot water - cleans pipes.

  • 4 tablets in the toilet will bring your bowl up sparkling clean.  Leave for an hour and then brush.

  • 1 tablet in a cup of warm water.  Drop in your jewelry (NOT PEARLS OR OPALS) and leave for a few minutes. Sparkling.

  • To freshen up a thermos flask, fill the flask with water, drop in four Alka Seltzer tablets and let soak for an hour (or longer if necessary).

  • To remove the stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets.

Use Lemon-oil on glass Shower Doors

One way to keep a shower door clean is to apply lemon oil on it. This should be done at least twice a month to avoid heavy build ups. Use 2-3 teaspoons of lemon oil on a dry cloth and apply on shower doors in overlapping horizontal strokes. Using lemon oil is a way to make shampoo, soap scum, and grimy water roll down the drain.
